Welcome to our blog. In the past our internet existence has been fairly minimal: we use a sort-of-underground website called Myspace (have you heard of it?) and actually haven't had a legitimate website for over a year. Here's the premise of this blog:

We are about to make a new record. We are recording in San Francisco and mixing in Portland. A fellow named Chris Walla is producing said record. Basically, we get to make a record with the person we've always wanted to make a record with at the studio we've always wanted to record at. At the same time, we don't know what label will be releasing this record, and we aren't "exactly" "finished" "writing" all of the songs at the moment. It's a very exciting/scary time for So Many Dynamos. What better time to keep you overly informed about what's going on?

In order to drive from Edwardsville, IL to San Francisco, we have to take I-270W to 70W to 435N to 29N to IA-2W to I-80W. From then on we will be on I-80W for over 1,600 miles. At this very moment, we are in Laramie, WY. Our friend Whitney has put us up in her former residency, which was formerly a house venue called The Manor. We played a brutally fun show there earlier this year. Last time we were here I ripped an epic hole in a pair of dress pants by overambitiously dancing to "Rock Your Body" post-show.

Driving to Laramie involves driving through the entire length of Nebraska, which is actually more boring that driving through the entire length of Missouri, which we also did today. There are signs on I-80 that say "Highway closed when lights are flashing. Prepare to exit and return to ________(insert name of last semi-legit town)". We've never seen the flashing lights and been forced to return, so the signs are a nice reminder that things could be much much worse. So far our only problems have been an mp3 player and a cd player dying during a drive. Our tape selection is slim, and the 160 songs on my iPod nano seem to like repeating themselves.

Just venting though, things are very good. I've got 2 blankets, a fish-shaped pillow, a Keystone light (thanks whitney!), a new phone (thanks Sprint!), and a new blog to write in. We're going to try to keep this as comprehensive as possible, so get ready for some wicked self indulgence.

AND if you haven't heard the ending of "Bed of Nails" backwards, check it out, yo. We think it's pretty sweet. We'll put up little snippets of stuff as we go.

Let's have some fun.

That sample's awesome. All you need is some TR-909 booty drums and you got yourself a Kompakt 12".
